While Emotional Resourcing is the process of settling into and allowing "what is," Inisight Meditation (by my definition) is simply learning to allow difficult thoughts, memories and emotions "move through." In so doing, the mind is regulating and healing itself.
Often times we find that we keep getting "hung-up" in the same way. If we can learn to compassionately move into those "big splash" emotions, not in an analytical sense, but in a felt sense, we can develop a real friendliness with these hang-ups that may release them completely, or at least minimize them to managable ripples.
It is most helpful to learn and get support in this practice with a guide, preferrably someone who has been well trained in these techniques. Eventually; however, my hope is that you will be able to do this on your own. Although, it can still be healing and fulfilling to be able to share these difficult emotions with a trusted other in your life.
